How we teach coding in schools

In Hello World Kids our methodology in teaching focuses on the most important aspect related to children: Simplicity. We kick it off by introducing basic concepts of programming with unplugged activities and a minimum amount of instructions in order to spark their curiosity and fire up their sense of exploration. In doing so, kids can build up their own way of thinking and understanding.

This process allows the students to learn by testing their own code and learn from their own mistakes. In addition, collaboration is an essential part of our curriculum; students discuss questions together, share their ideas and learn from each other’s experiences.

Weekly plans for the whole semester

At Hello World Kids we implement a two-way communication method. Every semester we visit the schools that adopted the Hello World Kids curriculum and evaluate the teaching process and the teachers. During these visits, we meet with the teachers to consult them.

In return, teachers provide us with feedback on challenges they might have faced. As a result, we adjust our curriculum according to their feedback. This continuous development makes the Hello World Kids curriculum adaptable for all schools.

Our Courses

Hello World Kids program consists of two Juniors levels and six advanced levels. Each level consists of 21 training hours, seven days, three hours per day.

The curriculum introduces the science of programming and the software industry in an enthusiastic and interactive way.

“We decided to go with Hello World Kids program to teach our kids coding as we felt it’s designed to make learning coding fun and easy. The curricula is very engaging and it’s differentiated to cater for different students’ levels and abilities. We learn coding using Small Basic, how to get the pictures from the internet & use them. I wanted to become a doctor when I grow up but now I’ve changed my mind, I want to be a programmer. It inspired me to look after the small details.
