How we teach coding in schools

In Hello World Kids our methodology in teaching focuses on the most important aspect related to children: Simplicity. We kick it off by introducing basic concepts of programming with unplugged activities and a minimum amount of instructions in order to spark their curiosity and fire up their sense of exploration. In doing so, kids can build up their own way of thinking and understanding.

This process allows the students to learn by testing their own code and learn from their own mistakes. In addition, collaboration is an essential part of our curriculum; students discuss questions together, share their ideas and learn from each other’s experiences.

Presentations

At Hello World Kids we implement a two-way communication method. Every semester we visit the schools that adopted the Hello World Kids curriculum and evaluate the teaching process and the teachers. During these visits, we meet with the teachers to consult them.

In return, teachers provide us with feedback on challenges they might have faced. As a result, we adjust our curriculum according to their feedback. This continuous development makes the Hello World Kids curriculum adaptable for all schools.

Our Courses

Hello World Kids program consists of two Juniors levels and six advanced levels. Each level consists of 21 training hours, seven days, three hours per day.

The curriculum introduces the science of programming and the software industry in an enthusiastic and interactive way.

The National Little Programmer Contest

The National Little Programmer contest is the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa. All students from schools that adopted the Hello World Kids curriculum are allowed to participate.

The contest is characterized by programmatic content. The competition is to solve the challenges quickly and error-free. The winning students* of the National Little Programmer contest will win a cash prize and a scholarship for all levels at HWK which is worth approximately 1,000 USD.

*The teacher who supervised the student will receive a reward as well.
